Arsenal tower

Information

Tower at north-eastern corner of the town fortification, 15th century. The side of the tower facing the city was open to prevent the tower from being used as a fortress against the city after being captured by enemies.

The "useless arsenal tower" was sold by the town in 1821 to Johann Christof Müller, a baker who lived next door. It was therefore also called "Beckersmüllers Turm". The town bought the tower back from Müller´s descendants in 1950.
